That’s the finding from fascinating research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. It’s not that addiction is caused by traumatic events, it’s more about the similarities in what addiction does to the brain. It’s a lot to do with how memories are laid down and habits are learnt, and researchers think they’ve found a way to flush the brain of its bad habits and bad memories.
