Peanuts are probably what jump to mind first when you think of food allergy in children, but many kids also have problems with milk. While most food allergy treatments involve avoiding all traces of the offending substance, some researchers are trying to see if they can use milk itself to blunt the immune reaction. It’s potentially dangerous, and certainly not to be tried at home, but under carefully controlled conditions may be promising.
