We use management skills on a day-to-day basis. We manage our needs, our family’s needs, our careers and finances – all while trying to balance working hard and having some fun. So it’s no wonder that when it comes to managing a chronic illness there’s a growing call for a common sense approach which draws on everyday skills to be applied to the challenges of managing medication and lifestyle changes that come with having a chronic disease. Tonic’s consumer affairs reporter Karen Carey gets the evidence, and catches up with a comedian with Crohn’s disease who couldn’t agree more.
