When we think of therapy we often think of medications, but food can be therapeutic too. On this week’s Food Fix, Nikki Heyder puts a healthy spin on classic porridge. It’s simple, it’s delicious, and it’s good for you, the best way to start the day!
- Rolled oats
- Banana, sliced
- Mixed frozen berries, thawed out
- 1 tbsp honey
- Skim milk
- Flaked almonds
- On a stove, heat a saucepan. To the saucepan, add the oats, water and skim milk.
- To this mixture, add the banana, honey and cinnamon, cook for 10 to 15 minutes until the mixture is thick.
- Serve in a breakfast bowl and decorate with berries, nuts and drizzle with honey to serve.
